Prof. Dror Mandel is currently the Head of the Department of Neonatology and the Chair of Dana Dwek Children's Hospital at the Tel Aviv Medical Center.

Prof. Mandel serves as a full Professor of Pediatrics at the faculty of Pediatrics, Tel Aviv University.

Prof. Mandel has an active research program in Neonatal Nutrition. He has mentored a large number of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Pediatrics residents and Neonatology fellows.

Prof. Mandel's current research areas include exploring human milk composition in various maternal and neonatal settings, and exploring unique ingredients in preterm human milk that might prevent the development of NEC, pediatric nutrition, and metabolism.

Prof. Mandel published over 180 original papers, reviews, comments, and book chapters in the field of Pediatric nutrition.

Current committee appointments include being a member of the Governmental Committee on nutrition by the Israeli Ministry of Health, former Chairman of the Israeli Society of Clinical Pediatrics, and the former chairman of the Israeli Pediatrics Board examinations committee.
